I am always looking for links to reliable, informative websites regarding educational research for D/deaf kids. When I find them, I pass them on. Here is one from RIT and Marc Marschart.

I am 48 yo, HOH since birth or thereabout; and since I became deafer on first one side, then the other - I now have bilateral cochlear implants (two different companies); and am pleased overall with them. I am from a hearing family, and if I had a deaf infant or child, I would have no hesistations to implant them as well. CI's are much better than hearing aides for me, and I believe for anyone with a significant loss. I enjoyed reading your blog and hope all is well for your daughter. Janet P.
Thanks Janet. Yes, she is doing amazingly well. She got to visit her old deaf ed school the other day and catch up with some of her old classmates. I am still stunned at the difference early implantation can have.
Thank you for sharing. If parents are looking to learn ASL, ASLdeafined.com is a website that has been online for two years, and it very structured. Not only does it help parents, but also deaf children, and the community in general. It is a very sophisticated program, but user-friendly. Great resource!
Good post. Certainly, people who are speech challenged to make use of this services.
